SNDBath: A Sound Healing Experience with Rebecca Turk

By Tamara Mustafa | VUE Atlanta

August 2025

In today’s fast-paced world, moments of deep rest and inner stillness are rare. That is exactly what Rebecca Turk, Founder and CEO of SNDBath, offers through her transformative sensory sound bath experiences. With a blend of instruments and ancient practices, Rebecca guides participants on meditative journeys that restore balance to the mind, body, and spirit.

A SNDBath sound healing session is designed to take participants beyond relaxation and into a state of deep energetic reset. Rebecca layers the angelic tones of quartz crystal bowls, each tuned to the body’s seven chakras, with the grounding rhythm of a native drum, evoking the flow of ocean waves. Her Wind Gong clears stagnant energy, while Koshi chimes, tuned to the four elements, bring a gentle sense of harmony to close the session.

Research has shown that vibrational sound healing can lower stress, support restorative sleep, and ease physical and emotional tension. Rebecca’s sessions create the space for healing to begin—releasing stored stress on a cellular level while reconnecting participants to themselves in a deeply grounding way.

SOAKING IN SOUND

Sound baths around greater Atlanta promote meditation and relaxation

By Denise k. James

August 2024

Another sound practitioner, Rebecca Turk, was inspired to try meditation as relief from her hectic career in marketing. “Sitting and meditating didn’t work for me by itself, but the sounds helped me be in the moment,” she says. A sound therapist for the last six years, Turk hosts sound baths around the city through her brand, SNDBATH. Regular sessions are held at Evolation Yoga in Midtown, The Chapel on Sycamore in Decatur, and multiple private settings. Turk also partners with the Georgia Aquarium for its Wellness by the Water series, which hosts a large-scale public sound bath in the windowed aquarium ballroom. As many as 400 attendees experience soothing tones against a backdrop of colorful fish, stingrays, and the aquarium’s famous whale sharks.

“What most people find is that they relax and sleep better for up to three days afterward,” Turk says. “They find they can deal with the stress of daily life more easily.”

Transporting Atmosphere

A SMALL CROWD SPRAWLS OUT and settles onto their yoga mats. Rebecca Turk strikes a quartz crystal bowl to make a sound you don’t so much hear as feel reverberating in your solar plexus. Then she plays the sea drum, which mimics the ocean, and the koshi chimes, each note lengthening in the shadows. The only other noise is your own deep breathing, in and out like the tide. The effect is a little like being inside a seashell. “The sounds are aligned with your chakras and work on connecting your spirit with your body and mind,” says Turk, who owns SNDBATH. “This helps with stress, anxiety and sleep, and you may feel a little achy afterward because it breaks up inflammation. It requires great acoustics to do this.”

“Because you can feel all of these pulsations so intensely, you can have a deeply personal journey at the chapel,” Turk concludes.
